Job summary

WellCare Homes in California is seeking a Direct Support Professional to provide direct care, supervision, and support to adults with developmental disabilities in a licensed residential setting. You will assist with activities of daily living, monitor health and behavior, and participate in team planning to promote independence and safety.

The role requires a valid CA driver’s license, background clearance, and current CPR/First Aid certification.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid California driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Ability to complete DOJ/FBI Live Scan and background clearance requirements.
• Current CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain.
• Health screening and TB clearance per Title 22 regulations.
• Must meet Title 17/22 licensing and training requirements.
• Must complete DSP 1 and DSP 2 training or pass the challenge test.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and supervision to clients with developmental disabilities.
• Assist with activities of daily living and personal care tasks.
• Observe and report changes in clients’ condition and behavior.
• Maintain confidential documentation and incident reports.
• Safely transport clients to appointments and activities.
• Implement behavior support strategies and crisis intervention as needed.
• Prepare and serve meals following dietary guidelines and sanitation standards.
• Respond to emergencies and ensure client safety at all times.
• Communicate professionally with clients, families, and healthcare providers.
