Job summary

Advocates for Life Skills & Opportunity Inc. in Portland, OR seeks a Direct Support Professional to provide person-centered care in residential settings. The role includes assisting with daily living, medical support, and community integration for individuals with IDD.

You will work within an interdisciplinary team to support wellness, autonomy, and inclusion, with shifts across swing and day programs. Driving is often required.

Qualifications

• Be dependable and punctual.
• Be able to lift, transfer, push/pull, 50 lbs.
• Willingness to accompany individuals out in the community.
• Valid driver license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cultivate strong, supportive connections with individuals receiving services.
• Assist with hygiene and medical support as needed, and daily living tasks in home and community.
• Under RN guidance, assist with medical equipment and procedures as needed.
• Adhere to person-centered plans to support safety and emotional regulation.
• Ensure proper documentation to meet compliance standards.
• Advocate for choices, autonomy, and community inclusion.
