Job summary

Venture Community Services seeks a Direct Support Professional to advocate for and empower adults with disabilities, promoting independence in daily activities. The role involves assisting with chores, meals, errands, appointments, and community engagement while following individualized plans.

The position offers paid training, a sign-on bonus, and a new pay rate. Shift coverage includes evenings and weekends, with a commitment to a supportive, inclusive team environment.

Qualifications

• Commitment to assisting people with varying disabilities to participate fully in their community.
• Ability to work as a creative, engaged, dedicated member of the team.
• Proven record of conscientious, responsible behavior (work, volunteer or school history).
• Must be 21+ years old, have a valid driver’s license, and be available by telephone for daily contact.

Responsibilities

• Advocate for and support adults 22+ with intellectual and developmental disabilities by empowering them to be active in their lives.
• Assist with household tasks, meals, shopping, appointments, and community activities to promote independence.
• Administer medications as directed and follow Behavior Support Plans and Individual Support Plans.
