Job Overview
Direct Support Professional – Russellville, AR – Full Time, Day Shift (Saturday and Sunday, 6:00 AM – 10:00 PM). Pay $12.00 plus differential.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist clients with basic living skills, including showers, dressing, housekeeping, grocery shopping, meal preparation and planning, and financial budgeting.
- Provide transportation to and from activities and appointments; a valid Arkansas driver’s license is required.
- Maintain clear communication via facility logbook, staff meetings, and other appropriate means regarding client needs and progress toward their plan of care by the end of each shift.
- Accurately complete all documentation required by FCC, including behavioral reports, incident reports, compliance forms, personal care worksheets, requisitions, maintenance forms, progress reports, monthly attendance logs, and other required documentation.
- Follow and complete necessary documentation and maintenance of records for FTA vehicles and maintain all mileage/billing forms in compliance with Medicaid guidelines.
- Immediately report incidents and/or emergencies to supervisors or delegated authorities.
- Assist in the formulation, management, revision, and follow‑through of each client’s plan of care to ensure treatment is carried out and health, safety, and security are prioritized.
- Follow medication management guidelines and assist in monitoring and documenting medication procedures.
- Organize and carry out recreational activities for clients.
- Model appropriate behavior, appearance, and actions; adhere to FCC dress code.
- Treat clients and their families with dignity and respect, representing FCC’s mission in all interactions.
- Assist in maintenance of FCC facilities, grounds, and vehicles; ensure cleanliness and preventive maintenance.
- Attend required training and continue education.
- Provide proof of liability insurance and keep it current.
- Might undergo periodic driving tests and demonstrate proficiency in operating motor vehicles, including passenger vans; may need to drive personal vehicles with adequate liability coverage.
- Maintain confidentiality of all information received regarding Friendship Community Care, Inc. and its clients in compliance with HIPAA and the company’s non‑disclosure policy.
Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or two or more years of experience working with developmentally disabled individuals.
- Valid driver’s license (Arkansas).
- Ability to read, comprehend, and write simple correspondence; present information in one‑on‑one and small group settings.
- Proficiency in basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, rates, ratios, percentages) and representation of data using bar graphs.
- Excellent reasoning ability; apply common sense and interpret written, oral, or diagram instructions.
Physical Demands
The role requires regular use of hands, frequent standing, walking, reaching, and occasional lifting of up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The job entails frequent sitting, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and tasting or smelling.
