Job summary

BAYADA Home Health Care, Inc. in Mount Airy, NC is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) / Special Needs Caregiver to provide one-on-one support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, helping them participate in community activities and gain independence.

The role offers flexible part-time schedules with weekly pay and a wage of $16.00 per hour, along with benefits and an apprentice program for training.

Qualifications

• One or more years of experience working with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
• 18 years of age or older.

We are currently hiring Direct Support Professional (DSP) / Special Needs Caregivers in the following areas:

• Mt. Airy, NC
• Elkin, NC

What You'll Do as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) / Special Needs Caregiver:

• Help individuals participate in community activities and social events
• Provide encouragement, mentorship, and meaningful companionship
• Support personal care needs, including dressing and grooming
• Transport clients to appointments, errands, and community outings
• Empower individuals to reach their goals and live as independently as possible

Pay & Schedule

$16.00/hr.

Qualifications for Our Direct Support Professionals (DSP):

• One or more years of experience working with intellectual and development disabilities (If you do not have this experience, training may be available through our apprentice program)
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required. While we will complete education verification as part of the hiring process, providing a copy of your diploma, GED certificate, or certified/sealed transcripts can help prevent delays if records are difficult to obtain.
• 18 years of age or older
