Responsibilities

  • Assists clients in basic living skills and daily personal tasks such as showers, dressing, housekeeping, grocery shopping, preparing and planning meals, and financial budgeting.
  • Provides transportation to and from activities and appointments as needed; requires a valid Arkansas Driver’s License.
  • Maintains good communication via facility logbook, staff meetings, or other appropriate means regarding clients’ needs and progress toward their plan of care by the end of shift.
  • Accurately completes all required documentation (behavioral reports, incident reports, compliance forms, personal care worksheets, requisitions, maintenance forms, progress reports, monthly attendance logs, etc.) as required by FCC and Medicaid guidelines.
  • Reports incidents and/or emergencies to supervisors or delegated authorities immediately; this is a safety‑sensitive position.
  • Assists in the formulation, management, revision, and follow‑through of the client’s Plan of Care to ensure that treatment is carried out with good health, safety, and security prioritized.

Job Location: Tucker, AR 72168 | Position Type: Part Time | Job Shift: Weekend | Schedule: Saturday and Sunday, 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM | Pay: $13.00

Summary

The Direct Support Professional works on an interdisciplinary team that delivers superior quality of service and provides appropriate activities in a safe and healthy environment within the home and community setting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assists clients in basic living skills and daily personal tasks such as showers, dressing, housekeeping, grocery shopping, preparing and planning meals, and financial budgeting.
  • Provides transportation to and from activities and appointments as needed; requires a valid Arkansas Driver’s License.
  • Maintains good communication via facility logbook, staff meetings, or other appropriate means regarding clients’ needs and progress toward their plan of care by the end of shift.
  • Accurately completes all required documentation (behavioral reports, incident reports, compliance forms, personal care worksheets, requisitions, maintenance forms, progress reports, monthly attendance logs, etc.) as required by FCC and Medicaid guidelines.

  • Follows proper medication management guidelines and assists in monitoring and documenting these procedures.
  • Organizes and carries out recreational activities for the clients.
  • Exemplifies good role modeling through appropriate physical appearance, adherence to FCC’s dress code, and respectful actions.
  • Treats the client and their families with dignity and respect; serves as a direct reflection of FCC and represents the mission in all that is done.
  • Assists in maintaining FCC facilities, grounds, and vehicles, ensuring cleanliness, orderly functioning, and regular preventive maintenance.
  • Attends necessary training and continues education.
  • Provides proof of liability insurance and keeps it current.
  • May be required to undergo periodic driving tests, demonstrate vehicle proficiency, and maintain adequate liability coverage on any personal vehicle used for transporting participants.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED; or at least two years of experience working with developmentally disabled individuals.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to read simple instructions, write clear correspondence, and present information in one‑on‑one and small group settings.
  • Numerical skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, rates, ratios, percentages, and interpreting bar graphs.
  • Reasoning ability: applying commonsense to carry out instructions, interpreting various forms of communication.
  • Physical capability: frequent standing, walking, and reaching; occasional lifting up to 100 pounds; adequate vision for close, color, and depth perception, and the ability to maintain focus.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in accordance with FCC’s Non‑Disclosure Policy and HIPAA regulations.
Work Environment

The job is performed in home and community settings with moderate noise levels. Reasonable accommodations may be available for individuals with disabilities.

Physical Demands

Regular use of hands to handle objects, frequent standing, walking, and reaching. Requires occasional lifting of up to 100 pounds. Must have adequate visual acuity and the ability to maintain focus.

Adhere to FCC’s Code of Conduct, Compliance Investigation Procedures, HIPAA, and all Quality Assurance requirements. Maintain client records weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly as prescribed by funding sources.
