Job summary

EON, Inc. is seeking a Direct Support Professional to provide care to individuals in our community in Slayton, MN. You will support daily living activities, administer medications as needed, and help individuals participate in community and recreational activities.

The role requires a compassionate, person-centered approach, the ability to work flexible hours including full-time split shifts or part-time evenings, and the ability to read and document information electronically.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license and pass a Motor Vehicle Record check.
• Must not be disqualified by criminal background studies.
• Able to read and write in English.
• Able to document information electronically.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with dressing, grooming, hygiene and other daily living functions.
• Assist individuals with bedtime routines and administering medications as needed.
• Support and teach independent living skills such as routines, meal prep, cooking, cleaning and budgeting.
• Assist individuals in accessing the community and participating in recreation and leisure activities.
• Help resolve challenging situations as they arise and provide safe, supportive care.

Benefits Category: This is an hourly, non-exempt, position. Benefits eligible if working 30 or more hours per week. PTO eligible if working 35 or more hours per week. ESOP benefits upon meeting plan entry requirements.

Schedule: Full-time Split shifts and part-time (Split and Evening) positions available ( i ncludes every other weekend ).

A DSP must understand the different needs of individuals with disabilities. As a DSP you must have the ability to exercise flexibility and assertiveness, have a positive work ethic, problem solve, and navigate challenging situations effectively. A DSP must also be able to work without direct supervision.
