Job summary

Serenity Day Habilitation is hiring Direct Support Professionals to provide one-to-one support for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in homes and communities across New Jersey. Roles include day, evening, and weekend shifts with flexible scheduling and paid training.

Competitive hourly rates range from $21.50 to $26.50, with part-time, full-time, and per diem options available. Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license ready for duties

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Valid driver’s license and insured vehicle.
• Ability to pass required background checks and DDD screenings.
• Smartphone or computer access for documentation.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently.
• Experience supporting individuals with I/DD preferred but not required; CPR and First Aid training will be provided if needed.

Responsibilities

• Support community activities, appointments, errands, and social opportunities.
• Teach daily living skills such as cooking, cleaning, budgeting, and shopping.
• Assist with personal care and medication reminders as authorized.
• Provide safe transportation.
• Follow individualized service plans and person-centered goals.
• Complete timely service notes and required documentation.
• Promote independence, dignity, choice, and self-advocacy.
