Job summary

Serenity Day Habilitation in New Jersey is hiring Direct Support Professionals to provide one-on-one support to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their homes and communities.

You will assist with daily living skills, transportation, documentation, and follow person-centered plans, with flexible Day/Evening/Weekend shifts and paid training.

This role requires a High School diploma or GED, 18+, valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills for interacting with adults with IDD
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• Comfort with documenting care and progress notes
• Willingness to pass background checks and screenings
• CPR/First Aid training provided if needed (not required at hire)

• Assist with personal care and medication reminders as authorized
• Provide safe transportation for clients as needed

$21.50–$26.50 per hour

Serenity is hiring compassionate and dependable Direct Support Professionals to provide one-on-one support to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their homes and communities.

Responsibilities

• Support community activities, appointments, errands, and social opportunities
• Teach daily living skills such as cooking, cleaning, budgeting, and shopping
• Assist with personal care and medication reminders as authorized
• Provide safe transportation
• Follow individualized service plans and person-centered goals
• Complete timely service notes and required documentation
• Promote independence, dignity, choice, and self-advocacy

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• At least 18 years old
• Valid driver’s license and reliable, insured vehicle
• Ability to pass required background checks and DDD screenings
• Smartphone or computer access for documentation
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently
• Experience supporting individuals with I/DD is preferred but not required. CPR and First Aid training will be provided if needed.
