Job summary

Serenity Day Habilitation is seeking Direct Support Professionals to provide one-on-one support to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their homes and communities across all New Jersey counties.

Flexible day, evening, and weekend shifts are available with paid training and competitive pay. Candidates should demonstrate strong communication, reliability, and the ability to work independently to empower individuals to lead meaningful lives.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to document accurately.
• Ability to pass required background checks and DDD screenings.
• Comfort working independently in homes and community settings.
• Smartphone or computer access for documentation and scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Support community activities, appointments, errands, and social opportunities.
• Teach daily living skills such as cooking, cleaning, budgeting, and shopping.
• Assist with personal care and medication reminders as authorized.

Full-Time | Part-Time | Per Diem
$21.50–$26.50 per hour

Serenity is hiring compassionate and dependable Direct Support Professionals to provide one-on-one support to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their homes and communities.

Responsibilities

• Support community activities, appointments, errands, and social opportunities
• Teach daily living skills such as cooking, cleaning, budgeting, and shopping
• Assist with personal care and medication reminders as authorized
• Provide safe transportation
• Follow individualized service plans and person-centered goals
• Complete timely service notes and required documentation
• Promote independence, dignity, choice, and self-advocacy

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• At least 18 years old
• Valid driver’s license and reliable, insured vehicle
• Ability to pass required background checks and DDD screenings
• Smartphone or computer access for documentation
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently
• Experience supporting individuals with I/DD is preferred but not required. CPR and First Aid training will be provided if needed.
