Job summary

Easterseals PORT Health is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to assist individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities in completing daily living tasks and achieving personal goals.

You will provide in-home and community-based care, supporting tasks from housekeeping and meals to personal care, with documentation in an electronic health record. Training, CPR/first aid, and other certifications are included as part of the role.

Qualifications

  • Entry-level, on-the-job training provided.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Knowledge of basic housekeeping, basic nutrition, and safety protocols.
  • Skills: interpersonal skills, attention to detail, dependability.
  • Technology: proficiency with EHR systems or ability to learn.
  • Transportation: reliable transportation, driver's license, and current auto insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Provide care in the home of the individual and the community they live in.
  • Assist with daily tasks including housekeeping, meal preparation, cooking, and cleaning; personal care such as bathing and dressing, toiletry and diaper changes; employment support.
  • You may transport the client to appointments and run errands.
  • Help plan and organize their schedule.
  • Daily documentation and reporting in the electronic health system of record.

  • Compensation: $18.00 hourly ($12.00 training rate)
Your Role in Our Mission
  • You will provide care in the home of the individual and the community they live in.
  • Assist with everyday tasks such as housekeeping, meal preparation, cooking, and cleaning; personal care such as bathing and dressing, toiletry and changing diapers; as well as employment support.
