Job summary

New Horizons in Autism, Inc. is seeking a Direct Support Professional for our Day Program to provide direct care and supervision to adults with autism in a structured, engaging setting.

You will help participants develop independence, life skills, and participate in meaningful daily activities while ensuring their health and safety. We offer comprehensive training, a supportive team, and opportunities for growth within a nonprofit setting.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 20 years of age.
• Valid New Jersey driver's license.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to interact professionally and respectfully with individuals with autism.
• Strong problem-solving skills and sound judgment.

Responsibilities

• Providing direct care, supervision, and individualized support.
• Assisting with personal care and activities of daily living.
• Administering and documenting medications.
• Teaching and reinforcing life skills.
• Providing transportation to community activities and appointments.
• Maintaining accurate documentation.
• Creating a structured, engaging, and supportive daily environment.

Education

High School Diploma, GED, or higher
