Job summary

Maryland Support Services in Frederick, MD is seeking a Direct Support Professional to help individuals implement their Person-Centered Plans and behavior plans, and assist with daily activities to promote community integration.

You will work closely with individuals, support social and recreational goals, maintain calendars, and ensure rights and safety while documenting care accurately per state regulations.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to lift/push/pull 50 lbs.
• One to two years’ experience working with people with developmental disabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and implementing person-centered plans for individuals.
• Help individuals pursue recreational, social and community activities.
• Assist with monthly activity calendars and planning.
• Encourage individuals to establish social networks and relationships.
• Maintain documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
• Ensure medication administration records are completed when applicable.
• Represent MSS professionally to families, coordinators, and partners.
• Maintain confidentiality of client information.
• Work shifts as assigned and comply with safety protocols.
