Job summary

Developmental Services Center (DSC) is hiring a Community First DSP in Champaign, IL. You will support individuals with IDD through recreational activities, social events, educational groups, volunteering, and connect them with community resources.

You will develop and lead small groups focused on recreation, education, and art, helping participants build new hobbies and life skills in a supportive, community-driven environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Fundamental computer skills, including general web browsing and Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).

Responsibilities

Developmental Services Center (DSC) provides comprehensive services across the lifespan-from birth through adulthood-including family development, case management, employment, residential, respite, and community day services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Champaign and Ford Counties. We offer an excellent work environment where your contributions truly make a difference in the lives of those we serve.RESPONSIBILITIES:• As a Community First DSP at DSC, you will support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities through recreational activities, social events, educational groups, volunteering, and other areas of interest to enhance personal fulfillment and make greater connections with their community. Additionally, you will develop and lead small groups based on the expressed interest of program participants in the areas of recreation, education, and art as well as facilitate the development of hobbies and interests through experiential opportunities in the community.REQUIREMENTS:• High School diploma or equivalent.• Excellent communication and organizational skills.• Fundamental computer skills, including general web browsing and Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).• Sufficient physical stamina and mobility for lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling.• Valid driver’s license and ability to drive DSC van to fulfill responsibilities of the position.HOURS:• 40 hours a weekWHAT WE OFFER YOU:• Grant-funded retention bonuses up to 2 payments for a maximum of $1,600 per fiscal year!
