Job summary

Developmental Services Center (DSC) is seeking a Community First DSP in Champaign, IL to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities through recreational activities, education, and community engagement. The role includes leading groups, facilitating hobbies, and helping participants form meaningful community connections.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Fundamental computer skills, including general web browsing and Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Sufficient physical stamina and mobility for lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to drive DSC van to fulfill responsibilities of the position.

Developmental Services Center (DSC) provides comprehensive services across the lifespan‑from birth through adulthood‑including family development, case management, employment, residential, respite, and community day services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Champaign and Ford Counties. RESPONSIBILITIES

• • As a Community First DSP at DSC, you will support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities through recreational activities, social events, educational groups, volunteering, and other areas of interest to enhance personal fulfillment and make greater connections with their community. Additionally, you will develop and lead small groups based on the expressed interest of program participants in the areas of recreation, education, and art as well as facilitate the development of hobbies and interests through experiential opportunities in the community.

REQUIREMENTS

HOURS

• 40 hours a week
