RHA Health Services, LLC in Bladen County is seeking a Direct Support Professional for our Waiver/Lumberton Unit. This full-time third shift role supports individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and those facing mental health and substance use challenges, helping them live their best lives.

You will assist with daily activities, transportation, personal care, and community outings, while maintaining confidentiality and promoting self-advocacy and choice.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to communicate and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Promote healthy living and prevent illness and accidents.
• Increase awareness of self-advocacy and support individual choice.
• Accompany people to work, movies, concerts, shopping, and community outings.
• Teach independent living skills.
• Provide transportation to appointments.
• Foster positive relationships within the community.
• Promote decision-making about living, work, and social relationships.
• Assist with personal care and bathing, and light home duties.
• Document the care you provide.
• Provide education on human, legal, and civil rights.
• Understand diverse challenges and advocacy strategies.
• Connect people with resources to explore opportunities.
• Promote effective communication.
• Assist in medication administration where state law allows.
• Protect confidentiality.
