Job summary

The Arc of Opportunity in Worcester, MA is seeking Direct Support Professionals to help individuals with developmental disabilities reach their fullest potential. This full-time DSP role offers daytime hours, a starting hourly rate of $20.81 and $21.85 with MAP Certification, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities include advocating for clients, implementing service plans, assisting with daily living tasks, driving the agency van, and participating in trainings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Active and valid driver’s license.
• Ability to pass background checks.
• Ability to lift to 50lbs and sustained periods of sitting or standing.
• Ability to assist in a restraint if needed.
• Experience in substance abuse or mental health preferred.

Responsibilities

• Actively advocate for individuals served demonstrating the Agency’s values and mission in all interactions.
• Leveraging your knowledge and interests in the community to empower individuals and enhance their quality of life.
• Implement Individual Service Plans.
• Assist individuals with Activities of Daily living, including household tasks and chores.
• Assist individuals with appointments, including driving the Agency’s van.
• Present in a respectful and professional manner in all interaction.
• Attend all trainings and implement knowledge throughout your work.
• Communicate in an effective manner whether orally or written.
