This entry‑level, second shift role covers 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and emphasizes supporting goal identification, advocacy, transportation to appointments, and participation in community outings.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (Preferred in TN)
• At least 18 years of age
• Valid driver’s license
• Conflict resolution skills
• Decision‑making ability
• Strong communication skills
• Reliable attendance
• Confidentiality at all times
• Some computer skills preferred
• Ability to assist with personal care and independent living skills

Responsibilities

• Promote healthy living and prevent illness and accidents.
• Encourage self‑advocacy and support decision‑making.
• Accompany individuals to work, events, and community outings.
• Teach independent living skills and provide transportation to appointments.
• Foster positive relationships within the community.
• Assist with personal care, bathing, and household chores.
• Document care provided and maintain accurate records.
• Provide education on human, legal, and civil rights.
• Use effective advocacy strategies for diverse challenges.
• Connect individuals with resources for career, education, and volunteer opportunities.
• Assist with medication administration where state law permits.
