Job summary

RHA Health Services in Gastonia, NC is hiring a Direct Support Professional (Waiver) for PT, 2nd shift. You will support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and those with mental health or substance use challenges in the community and at home, helping them achieve goals and live their best lives.

Responsibilities include promoting healthy living, assisting with daily living activities, transportation, advocacy, documenting care, and maintaining confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (Preferred (TN)).
• At least 18 years of age.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Conflict resolution abilities.
• Some computer skills preferred.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and good attendance.

Responsibilities

• Promote healthy living and prevent illness and accidents.
• Increase awareness of self-advocacy and support individual choice.
• Accompany people to work, activities, and community events.
• Teach independent living skills and provide transportation to appointments.
• Foster positive community relationships and document care provided.
• Ensure confidentiality and advocate for rights.
