Job summary

Merakey seeks Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) for our Sacramento, CA program. You will work with individuals with developmental disabilities, supporting daily living skills and implementing behavior plans in community or home settings.

Schedule is 1st Shift: Fri-Mon 7:00 AM–3:00 PM; Full-Time 32 hours/week. Pay ranges from $24.00–$26.00 per hour, with potential to earn up to $26 after RBT certification.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED.
• RBT certification or licensed psychiatric technician; or plan to obtain RBT within 12 months.
• Minimum 6 months experience with IDD/MH population or equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years old; valid driver’s license if required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with direct care and basic daily living activities.
• Assist with implementation of behavior plans.
• Support individuals in various settings including community, family, or home environments.
• Promote health, safety, dignity, and contentment of every consumer served.

Pay:
$24.00-$26.00 per hour

Earnup to $26 once you have received your RBT – Registered Behavioral Technician certification.

OurDirect Support Professionals(DSPs) interact and support our individuals with development disabilities in a variety of potential settings including community, family or individual homes and generic community settings, as well as Adult Training Facilities. The DSP will assist with direct care as well as implementation of behavior plans. We provide a level of care that enhances the health, safety, dignity and contentment of every consumer served by assisting and training individuals in the areas of personal care, communication, and social skill development.

Requirements

Education/License/Certification(s):

• High school diploma or GED
• Certification-Registered Behavior Technician or licensed psychiatric technician; or become a registered behavior technician within twelve months of initial employment.
• 6 months experience working with IDD/MH population or equivalent

• Ability to read, speak, write and comprehend the English language
• Must have desire to help others reach their fullest potential
• Completes PPD testing and Physical Examination upon hire and minimally every 2 years thereafter, if required.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule when needed
• Ability to model, teach, and encourage socially-acceptable behaviors as needed
