Job summary

Merakey seeks Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) in Sacramento, CA to assist individuals with developmental disabilities across community and home settings.

You will help with direct care, implement behavior plans, and support health, safety, dignity and happiness. Must be 18+, have a HS diploma or GED, and either hold RBT or pursue within 12 months.

Qualifications

Earn $23- $25 per hour (rate increases to $2 per hour once you have received your RBT - Registered Behavioral Technician certification).

Our Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) interact and support our individuals with development disabilities in a variety of potential settings including community, family or individual homes and generic community settings, as well as Adult Training Facilities. The DSP will assist with direct care as well as implementation of behavior plans. We provide a level of care that enhances the health, safety, dignity and contentment of every consumer served by assisting and training individuals in the areas of personal care, communication, and social skill development.

Education/License/Certification(s):

• High school diploma or GED


• Certification-Registered Behavior Technician or licensed psychiatric technician; or become a registered behavior technician within twelve months of initial employment.

Experience: Minimum Required

• 6 months experience working with IDD/MH population or equivalent

ADDITIONAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Must be at least 18 years old


• Valid driver's license, if required


• Ability to read, speak, write and comprehend the English language


• Must have desire to help others reach their fullest potential


• Completes PPD testing and Physical Examination upon hire and minimally every 2 years thereafter, if required.


• Ability to work a flexible schedule when needed


• Ability to model, teach, and encourage socially-acceptable behaviors as needed
