Job summary

Metro Star Services in Palm Bay, FL is seeking compassionate Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to join our Brevard County team. The role provides hands-on care, helps individuals develop daily living skills, and promotes community inclusion.

You will follow care plans, support with ADLs, meals, personal hygiene, and safety. A HS diploma or GED is required, with at least 1 year in caregiving and a background check. Hybrid, part-time positions with weekly pay.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of experience in caregiving, healthcare, or disability support (college credits may be substituted).
• Must be reliable, patient, and compassionate.
• Ability to follow care plans and safety procedures.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to pass background checks and required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care services tailored to the individual’s needs.
• Assist with ADLs, including personal hygiene, dressing, and grooming.
• Support individuals in meal preparation and ensure dietary needs are met.
• Promote independent living skills such as budgeting, grocery shopping, and household chores.
• Encourage and facilitate community inclusion, social skills, and recreational activities.
• Implement individualized goals and support plans in a person-centered environment.
• Ensure the health and safety of all individuals under your care.
• Identify, document, and report any incidents, allegations of abuse, or concerns as required.
• Administer medications accurately (upon successful completion of an approved AMAP course).
• Communicate effectively with staff, management, and families to ensure coordinated care.
