Metro Star Services in Wauchula, Central Florida is hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to help individuals with disabilities live independently. You will provide hands-on care, assist with daily living, meals, and community involvement in a person-centered setting.

Required: high school diploma or GED, at least 1 year of caregiving, ability to follow care plans, pass background checks, and bilingual Spanish. AMAP medication training is available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of caregiving or disability support experience preferred.
• Bi-lingual in Spanish required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care services tailored to the individual’s needs.
• Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, dressing, and grooming.
• Support individuals in meal preparation and ensure dietary needs are met.
• Promote independent living skills such as budgeting, grocery shopping, and household chores.
• Encourage and facilitate community inclusion, social skills, and recreational activities.
• Implement individualized goals and support plans in a person‑centered environment.
• Ensure the health and safety of all individuals under your care.
• Identify, document, and report any incidents, allegations of abuse, or concerns as required.
• Administer medications accurately (upon successful completion of an approved AMAP course).
• Communicate effectively with staff, management, and families to ensure coordinated care.
