Job summary

Maxim Healthcare Services is seeking compassionate Direct Support Professionals to provide in-home and community-based support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Macungie, PA. The DSP will assist with ADLs, offer companionship, and help with community participation, meal prep, and light housekeeping.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous experience as a Direct Support Professional, Behavioral Health Technician, or CNA preferred but not required.
• Reliable transportation
• Ability to pass required background screenings
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Compassionate, patient, and dependable personality
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs)
• Provide companionship and emotional support
• Support community integration and participation in recreational activities
• Assist with meal preparation and light housekeeping
• Promote independence while ensuring safety and well-being
• Document services and client progress accurately
• Follow individualized care plans and behavioral support plans as needed
• Maintain a positive, respectful, and professional relationship with clients and families
