Job summary

Maxim Healthcare is hiring for a Direct Support Professional to provide support and assistance to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to help them achieve their personal goals and enhance their quality of life in their home and in the community.

Responsibilities include assisting with daily living activities, transporting clients to community activities, and documenting progress to support development and independence while maintaining safety.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication that supports individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
• Proficiency in English for documentation and interaction.
• Active driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• CPR/FA and NCI/CPI training are preferred.
• HS diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with daily living activities, including personal hygiene and meal prep.
• May transport clients to and from community activities.
• Support individuals in achieving developmental goals and independence.
• Encourage community participation and accompany individuals on outings and social activities.
• Document observations and progress and ensure a safe environment for clients.

Responsibilities:

• Assist individuals with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal prep, and household chores
• May transport clients to and from community activities
• Support individual in achieving their developmental goals and fostering independence
• Encourage community participation and accompany individuals on outings and social activities
• Responsible for documenting observations and progress on specific goals and ensuring a safe environment for client

Requirements:

• NCI/CPI Training
• CPR/FA
• High school diploma or GED required
• TB screening
• Active driver’s license
• Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills
• Proficiency in the English language required
• Technological proficiency including mobile devices for documentation
• Must be at least 18 years of age
