Job summary

Spectrum Community Services is seeking a Direct Support Professional to assist individuals with disabilities in AFCS/CLS settings in Niles, MI. You will support daily living tasks, health monitoring, and community integration, while promoting dignity and independence.

This on-site role requires compassion, reliability, and the ability to work with a multi-disciplinary team in both home and community-based environments.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be able to provide two work references demonstrating good performance and attendance.
• Must have a valid Michigan Driver’s License and acceptable driving record.
• Must have reliable and ongoing transportation.
• Successful completion of a comprehensive background check including fingerprinting, medical clearance (TB test, drug screen & physical exam), and MILTC screening.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate on-site activation and support in AFCS/CLS homes and private residences.
• Assist clients with daily living tasks including cooking, cleaning, health, and personal care.
• Support community integration and overall well-being in a compassionate, respectful manner.

About the role

Spectrum Community Services is hiring compassionate, honest, energetic Direct Support Professionals. This position is responsible for on-site coordination of active treatment in Adult Foster Care (AFS) or Community Living Services (CLS) homes or private residences, serving individuals with physical, cognitive, and/or behavioral disabilities. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, helping clients with cooking, cleaning, community integration, health, and personal care.

Experience working with people with disabilities (preferred but not required). We provide all the necessary training, including CPR/FA certification.
