Job summary

Addus HomeCare in Naples, FL is hiring Direct Support Professionals to help seniors and people with disabilities live independently. This entry-level role offers flexible hours, competitive pay up to $15.68 per hour, and opportunities to learn the fundamentals of quality home care.

You will work under a care plan, provide personal care, assist with housekeeping and transportation, and report changes in health while building a rewarding career in a growing industry.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Able to pass a criminal background check.
• Reliable transportation with valid driver's license and auto insurance.
• Ability to follow written/verbal instructions.
• Good communication and well-organized.
• Comfortable using electronic devices.

Responsibilities

• Follow a care plan for the member and report on tasks completed.
• Assist with personal care (bathing, dressing, etc.).
• Help with daily housekeeping, laundry, and meal prep.
• Transport members to appointments and errands.
• Assist with self-administration of medications (no meds).
• Observe changes in member's condition and report.

DSP Responsibilities

• Follow a care plan for the member and report on completed tasks.
• Assist people with personal care (bathing, dressing, etc.)
• Support routine house cleaning, laundry, and assist with meal preparation.
• Transport members to appointments, daily errands, and other locations as necessary.
• Assist member with the self-administration of medications (no administering or measuring)
• Observe and report any changes in member's condition.

DSP Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, and one year of in-home care services experience
• Able to pass a criminal background check.
• Reliable transportation, required for member transportation. A valid driver’s license and proof of insurance is required.
• Ability to work with limited supervision and follow written/verbal instructions.
• Good communication skills
• Reliable, energetic, self-motivated, and well-organized
• Comfortable using an electronic device.
