Job summary

Addus HomeCare is seeking an entry-level Direct Support Professional to support seniors and people with disabilities living independently. Earn up to $15.68 per hour with flexible hours, weekly pay, and travel reimbursement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and at least 1 year in-home care experience.
• Able to pass a criminal background check.
• Reliable transportation with a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions with limited supervision.
• Willingness to transport members to appointments and use an electronic device.
• Comfortable communicating with members and reporting changes.

Responsibilities

• Follow a care plan for the member and report on completed tasks.
• Assist people with personal care (bathing, dressing, etc.)
• Support routine house cleaning, laundry, and assist with meal preparation.
• Transport members to appointments, daily errands, and other locations as necessary.
• Assist member with the self-administration of medications (no administering or measuring)
• Observe and report any changes in member's condition.

DSP Responsibilities

• Good communication skills
• Reliable, energetic, self-motivated, and well-organized
• Comfortable using an electronic device.
