Job summary

Addus HomeCare in Madisonville, TN is seeking an entry-level Direct Support Professional to help seniors and people with disabilities live independently at home. Earn up to $15.68 per hour with flexible hours and reliable weekly pay.

You will follow care plans, assist with personal care, light housekeeping, transportation, and report changes to the team. A high school diploma or GED and at least one year of in-home care experience are required, along with a valid driver’s license and reliable

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of in-home care experience preferred.
• Criminal background check must be passed.

Responsibilities

• Follow a care plan and report completed tasks.
• Assist with personal care (bathing, dressing).
• Assist with light house cleaning, laundry, and meal prep.
• Transport members to appointments and errands.
• Assist with self-administration of medications (no med dosing).
• Observe and report changes in member's condition.

DSP Responsibilities

• Follow a care plan for the member and report on completed tasks.
• Assist people with personal care (bathing, dressing, etc.)
• Support routine house cleaning, laundry, and assist with meal preparation.
• Transport members to appointments, daily errands, and other locations as necessary.
• Assist member with the self-administration of medications (no administering or measuring)
• Observe and report any changes in member's condition.

DSP Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, and one year of in-home care services experience
• Able to pass a criminal background check.
• Reliable transportation, required for member transportation. A valid driver’s license and proof of insurance is required.
• Ability to work with limited supervision and follow written/verbal instructions.
• Good communication skills
• Reliable, energetic, self-motivated, and well-organized
• Comfortable using an electronic device.
