Job summary

Sevita's REM Community Services in Council Bluffs is seeking a Direct Support Professional to empower individuals with developmental disabilities and help them live well daily.

Open Interview Events – every Monday, 10:00 am–12:00 pm at 300 W. Broadway, Suite 107, Council Bluffs, IA 51503.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Access to a registered vehicle for all shifts.
• Auto insurance and valid driver's license for at least one year without restrictions.
• Successful clearance of background check.

Responsibilities

• Empower individuals to achieve personal and developmental goals, from budgeting to community involvement.
• Build meaningful connections as a trusted mentor, advocate, and friend.
• Take initiative and make a difference daily with support from leaders who value your input.
• Champion inclusion: help people access communities, attend events and pursue activities.
• Support daily living: assist with meal prep, medication, personal care and outings.
• Show compassion and patience in daily interactions and be adaptable to diverse needs.
• Assist with Daily Living Skills and personal hygiene as needed; some individuals may have behavioral challenges.

• Support daily living: Assist with meal prep, medication, Personal care, and outings—helping participants enjoy life to the fullest.
• Show your community compassion and Patience: In addition to assisting in general
• Daily Living Skills, some of our exceptional individuals will also need help with personal hygiene. Some individuals may also have behavioral challenges and other complex needs.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Vehicle: Access to a registered vehicle with you during all shifts to transport individuals
• Auto Insurance: Must be able to provide proof of insurance
• Driver's License: Valid Driver's license for at least one year without restrictions – cannot accept learner’s permit or intermediate license
• Successful clearance of background check
