Job summary

REM Community Services, part of the Sevita family, seeks a Direct Support Professional for a day program in West Des Moines, IA. Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m., with starting pay of $15.25 per hour and full benefits. On-demand pay and growth opportunities are highlighted in the call for interview events.

You will empower individuals, build trusted relationships, and champion inclusion while supporting daily living activities and personal care with compassion.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Vehicle access during shifts to transport individuals.
• Auto insurance: proof of insurance required.
• Valid driver's license for at least one year without restrictions.
• Background checks cleared.
• Reliable, responsible attitude and patient, kind approach.

Responsibilities

• Empower individuals to achieve personal and developmental goals.

• Take initiative and contribute ideas with leadership support.
• Champion inclusion and help access communities and events.
• Support daily living: meal prep, medication, personal care, and outings.

Starting Pay

• Empower individuals to achieve their personal and developmental goals, from budgeting and nutrition to community involvement and recreation.

• Champion inclusion: Help people access their communities, attend events, and pursue their favorite activities.
• Support daily living: Assist with meal prep, medication, Personal care, and outings—helping participants enjoy life to the fullest.
• Show your community compassion and Patience: In addition to assisting in general
• Daily Living Skills, some of our exceptional individuals will also need help with personal hygiene. Some individuals may also have behavioral challenges and other complex needs.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Education: Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent
• Vehicle: Must have access to a registered vehicle with you during all shifts to transport individuals
• Auto Insurance: Must be able to provide proof of insurance
• Driver's License: Must have a Valid Driver's license for at least one year without restrictions. We cannot accept a learner's permit or an intermediate license
• Successful clearance of background checks
