Easterseals PORT Health is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) in Wilson, NC, to help individuals with IDD live independently and participate in daily activities. This entry-level role offers on-the-job training and entails compassionate support in home and community settings.

Part-time daytime and after-school hours, Mon–Fri, with weekend shifts. You will assist with daily living tasks, transportation, scheduling, and documentation in the electronic health record, earning $15 per hour.

• Entry-level DSP role; on-the-job training provided.
• Education: high school diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of basic housekeeping, basic nutrition, and safety protocols.
• Skills: interpersonal communication, reliability, and attention to detail.

Responsabilités

• Provide care in client homes and community settings.
• Assist with daily tasks such as housekeeping, meal prep, cooking, and personal care.
• Transport clients to appointments and run errands.
• Plan and organize the client's schedule.
• Document and report daily in the health system.

As a Direct Support Professional (DSP, you’ll play a critical role in carrying outthat mission by helping people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) complete everyday living tasks and achieve their goals.

Position details: Part-time day and after-school/afternoon hours, Mon-Fri; weekend shifts
Location: Wilson, NC, and surrounding areas with regular local community travel
Compensation: $15.00/hour

• You will provide care in the home of the individual and the community they live in.
• Assist with everyday tasks such as housekeeping, meal preparation, cooking, and cleaning; personal care such as bathing and dressing, toiletry and changing diapers; as well as employment support.
• You may transport the client to appointments and run errands.
• Help plan and organize their schedule.
• Daily documentation and reporting in the electronic health system of record.
