Job summary

Easterseals PORT Health is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) in Fuquay-Varina, NC for part-time after school hours and weekends. You will assist individuals with IDD in daily living tasks, provide care in home and community settings, and support transportation and scheduling needs.

Qualifications

• Entry-level, on-the-job training provided.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of basic housekeeping, nutrition, and safety.
• Strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and dependability.
• Proficiency with EHRs or ability to learn quickly.

Responsibilities

• Provide care in the home and community setting.
• Assist with housekeeping, meals, personal care, and employment support.
• Transport client to appointments and run errands.
• Plan and organize the client's daily schedule.
• Document daily activities in the electronic health record.

As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you’ll play a critical role in carrying out that mission by helping people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) complete everyday living tasks and achieve their goals.

Position details: Part-time; after school hours and weekends

Location: Fuquay Varina, NC, with regular local community travel

Compensation: $18.00/hour

Your Role in Our Mission

• You will provide care in the home of the individual and the community they live in
• Assist with everyday tasks such as housekeeping, meal preparation, cooking, and cleaning; personal care such as bathing and dressing; and employment support
• You may transport the client to appointments and run errands
• Help plan and organize their schedule
• Daily documentation and reporting in the electronic health system of record

What We’re Looking For

• Transportation: DSPs must have reliable transportation and current auto insurance
