Merakey is hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) for our Sacramento, CA program. The role provides direct support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in homes, community settings, and Adult Training Facilities.

The team works with individuals who may display challenging behaviors, implementing plans to promote safety, independence, and well-being. Earn $23-$25 per hour, with a rate increase to $2 per hour after obtaining RBT certification.

Formación

• High school diploma or GED.
• RBT certification or licensed psychiatric technician, or obtain RBT within 12 months.
• At least 6 months experience with IDD/MH population or equivalent.

Our Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) provide direct support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in homes, community settings, and Adult Training Facilities. This role serves individuals with complex behavioral needs, including severe aggression, property destruction, self-injurious behaviors, and crisis situations. DSPs implement behavior support plans, assist with personal care and daily living activities, promote community engagement, and help individuals build independence while ensuring their health, safety, dignity, and well-being. Successful candidates are compassionate, resilient, and able to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.

Requirements

Education/License/Certification(s):

• High school diploma or GED
• Certification-Registered Behavior Technician or licensed psychiatric technician; or become a registered behavior technician within twelve months of initial employment.
• 6 months experience working with IDD/MH population or equivalent

ADDITIONAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: (Please list other job requirements)

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Valid driver’s license, if required
• Ability to read, speak, write and comprehend the English language
• Must have desire to help others reach their fullest potential
• Completes PPD testing and Physical Examination upon hire and minimally every 2 years thereafter, if required.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule when needed
• Ability to model, teach, and encourage socially-acceptable behaviors as needed
