RHA Health Services, LLC is hiring a Direct Support Professional / Waiver in Kannapolis, NC and Concord, NC. This entry-level role supports individuals with intellectual, developmental disabilities and mental health challenges in home and community settings.

You’ll be part of a care team helping clients identify goals and live their best lives, wearing many hats as advocate, coach, and companion. Position offers $15.00/hourly pay with full-time schedules, including every other weekend.

Qualifikationen

• High School Diploma or GED (Preferred (TN))
• At least 18 years of age
• Valid drivers’ license

Aufgaben

• Promote healthy living and prevent illness and accidents.
• Increase awareness of self-advocacy and support individual choice and decision-making.
• Accompany people to work, the movies, concerts, shopping, and other community outings.
• Teach independent living skills.
• Provide transportation to appointments.
• Foster positive relationships within the community.
• Promote decision-making about living, work, and social relationships.
• Assist with personal care and bathing, help around the home (laundry, cleaning, and decorating).
• Document the care you provide.
• Provide education on human, legal, and civil rights.
• Understand diverse challenges of those living with disabilities and use effective advocacy strategies.
• Connect people with resources to further explore opportunities in their career, education, volunteerism, etc.
• Promote effective communication.
• Assist in medication administration where state law allows.
• Protect confidentiality.
