Job summary

Young Adult Institute, Inc. is seeking a Direct Support Professional to support individuals with I/DD across Cypress Hills (Brooklyn) and Ozone Park/Howard Beach (Queens). You will provide direct care, help with daily living activities, monitor health and safety, support community integration, and participate in treatment planning.

Training includes AMAP, CPR/First Aid, SCIP-R, and defensive driving. Full- and part-time shifts are available with DailyPay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid NYS Driver’s License required for most positions.
• Experience in the I/DD field is a plus (DSP 2 requires 2+ years).
• Good written and verbal communication.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• TB test and background check mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care services including counseling and ADLs.
• Ensure health, safety, and wellness of the people we support.
• Assist with intimate and personal care needs.
• Build and maintain positive relationships and support community integration.
• Complete documentation for compliance and billing and participate in trainings.
