Job summary

Chimes is seeking a Residential Assistant to provide support, personal assistance, training, and quality care to people with intellectual disabilities in a community group home. Under supervision of the Division Manager of Residential Services, you will help residents reach greater independence and participate in individualized plans.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with no prior experience necessary.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience: None required.
• Licensure/Certifications: None required.
• Required Clearances: Pennsylvania Child Abuse, Criminal and fingerprint checks; not on Medicaid/Medicare Exclusion list.

Responsibilities

• Assist persons served in becoming more independent.
• Act as a positive role model for persons served.
• Provide guidance, instruction, coaching, and support per individual plans.
• Engage individuals in beneficial programs and activities.
• Transport and accompany individuals to appointments and outings.
• Directly assist with personal care as needed.
• Assist with meal preparation and routine homemaking duties.
• Ensure safety including medical/medication needs.
• Apply approved behavior plans and intervention strategies as needed.
• Complete records and reports; collect data per agency policy.
