Life's New Beginning is a non-profit agency in York, PA seeking Direct Support Professionals to work in one-person home settings, supporting daily living skills and community participation.

Starting pay is $23.00–$25.00 per hour with full-time and part-time options, and the role includes trauma-informed care and required training such as CPR, First Aid, Med Administration, and Safe Crisis Management.

Qualifications

• Experience with individuals with IDD who may exhibit significant harmful behaviors
• Trauma-informed care experience required
• Mental health experience required
• High school diploma or GED
• Valid PA driver's license with at least 2 years driving experience
• Ability to read, speak, and write English
• Ability to pass background check
• Must be 18 years or older
• Emergency physical safety interventions ability
• Willingness to complete CPR, First Aid, Med Administration, Safe Crisis Management training

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and teach daily living skills (cooking, self-care, hygiene, laundry, cleaning, shopping)
• Teach health and safety, social, and relationship-building skills
• Provide community and social/recreational support
• Act as a mentor to foster independence
• Promote patience and calmness in stressful situations
