Job summary

BECOMING INDEPENDENT is seeking a Direct Support Professional II in Santa Rosa, CA to assist individuals in pursuing personal goals through community engagement, volunteering, employment, and education. The role emphasizes person-centered planning and skill development within our education initiatives program.

The position is non-exempt with no supervisory duties. You will participate in routines, trainings, and transportation to ensure safe, meaningful community access for individuals served.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required; college coursework or related professional experience is preferred.
• Experience working with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities is desirable; good customer service and helping others.
• Must be able to speak, read, write English.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals in engaging in vocational, volunteer, and community activities.
• Help establish and maintain social connections in the community.
• Develop and implement service plans focusing on personal choice and instructional plans.
• Complete monthly trainings and shadowing for new staff.
• Maintain records and write reports including GER and time/attendance.
• Transport individuals to activities and ensure safety during travel.
