Job summary

North Star Oregon LLC is seeking compassionate Direct Support Professionals to assist individuals with I/DD in homes, communities, and day settings. You’ll help clients build independence, follow personalized plans, and participate in activities they enjoy while receiving paid training and flexible scheduling.

Starting as part-time with opportunities to grow, the role offers health plan options and a 401(k) with match.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old.
• Be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Successfully complete an ODHS-approved background check.
• Not be excluded from federally funded health care programs.
• Read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Communicate effectively and respectfully with individuals and teams.
• Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.
• Remain calm during emergencies or unexpected situations.
• Use a smartphone or electronic device for scheduling and documentation.
• Physically able to perform essential functions, with or without accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on support with ADLs including hygiene, dressing, mobility, and meals.
• Support participation in community activities and skill-building opportunities.
• Promote independence, dignity, privacy, and self-determination.
• Help develop social and living skills per each plan.
• Assist with medication support and documentation per orders and policies.
• Complete required electronic documentation accurately and on time.
• Maintain a safe, clean and supportive environment following policies.
• Collaborate with individuals, families, guardians, coworkers and case managers.
• Remain calm and respond appropriately during emergencies and incidents.
