Job summary

North Star Oregon LLC is seeking compassionate Direct Support Professionals to assist individuals with I/DD in homes, communities, and day programs. You will support daily living, encourage independence, and help clients reach personal goals.

The role offers flexible scheduling, paid training, and growth opportunities, with pay at $25.00-$26.00 per hour, optional overtime, health plan options, and a 401(k) with match. Experience not required but valued.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Successfully complete an ODHS-approved background check.
• Not be excluded from federally funded health care programs.
• Able to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Communicate effectively with individuals, families, coworkers, and management.
• Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.
• Use a smartphone or electronic device for scheduling and documentation.
• Physically able to perform essential job functions.
• Hold a valid driver’s license if transportation is required.
• Maintain CPR and First Aid certification, or complete after hire.
• Prior experience with I/DD or caregiving is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on support with ADLs (hygiene, mobility, meals) and individualized needs.
• Support participation in community activities and skill-building.
• Promote dignity, privacy, independence, and self-determination.
• Assist with medication support and documentation per orders.
• Complete required electronic documentation accurately and on time.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive environment.
• Collaborate with individuals, families, guardians, coworkers, and case managers.
• Remain calm and respond to emergencies and unexpected situations.
