Job summary

Abound Health is hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide caregiving and daily living support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in Matthews, NC. As a DSP, you will assist with ADLs, community participation, and behavioral support while helping clients live independently.

Starting pay is $15.40–$17.00 per hour with a $1,000 signing bonus paid in installments.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Valid driver's license, current auto insurance, and reliable transportation.
• Ability to pass criminal, driving, and healthcare registry checks.
• No experience with IDD required – paid training provided.

Responsibilities

• Build positive relationships and support clients in achieving personal goals.
• Assist with daily living activities such as meals, hygiene, and house tasks.
• Support community participation, employment, and social activities.
• Use adaptive tools to aid learning and communication.
• Encourage independence and help clients develop new skills.
• Monitor health and safety and maintain a supportive environment.
• Communicate with team, families, and case managers as needed.
• Complete documentation and maintain schedules.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development.
