Job summary

Maxim Healthcare is seeking a Direct Support Professional to provide care for individuals with intellectual disabilities in home and community settings. You will help them with health, safety, and daily living activities while promoting independence and following care plans.

Responsibilities include documenting progress, crisis prevention, and upholding client rights. The role requires CPR and health screenings, with ongoing trainings and certification maintenance.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and write proficiently in English.
• Current CPR Card.
• Current Health Screening (state requirements).
• Provide proof of one of the following qualifications: PA nurses license, PA CNA certification, or state-approved home health aide program completion.

Responsibilities

• Ensure client health, wellness and safety.
• Support independence in activities of daily living and learning goals.
• Crisis prevention and intervention.
• Promote client rights and advocacy.
• Document client status, interactions and behaviors accurately.
• Follow behavior support plans and report suspected abuse or neglect promptly.
• Utilize prompting, instruction, modeling, and reinforcement in person-centered services.
• Provide transportation as needed.
• Complete required annual trainings and maintain certifications.
