Job summary

The Arc of Opportunity in North Central Massachusetts is looking for Direct Support Professionals to help individuals with Developmental Disabilities reach their fullest potential. You will advocate for clients, assist with daily living, and support their participation in community activities while implementing individualized plans.

Montly hours are Monday through Friday, 9am–4pm, totaling 35 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Highschool diploma or GED
• Active and valid driver’s license
• Ability to pass background checks
• Ability to lift to 50lbs and sustained periods of sitting or standing
• Ability to assist in a restraint if needed
• Experience in substance abuse or mental health preferred

Responsibilities

• Actively Advocate for individuals served demonstrating the Agency’s values and mission in all interactions
• Leveraging your knowledge and interests in the community to empower individuals and enhance their quality of life
• Implement Individual Service Plans
• Assist individuals with Activities of Daily living, including household tasks and chores
• Assist individuals with appointments, including driving the Agency’s van
• Present in a respectful and professional manner in all interaction
• Attend all trainings and implement knowledge throughout your work
• Communicate in an effective manner whether orally or written
