Job summary

The Arc of Opportunity in North Central Massachusetts in Spencer, MA is seeking a Direct Support Professional-Relief to assist individuals with developmental disabilities in residential settings.

You will work with Residential managers and DSPs to ensure service excellence, support daily living activities, and help maintain safety and well-being for participants. A valid driver’s license and ability to lift up to 50 lbs are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Active and valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to pass background checks required.
• Ability to lift to 50 lbs and maintain periods of sitting/standing.
• Ability to assist in a restraint if needed.
• Experience in substance abuse or mental health preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with Residential managers and DSPs to deliver service standards and maintain regulatory compliance.
• Advocate for individuals served and implement Individual Support Plans based on assessments and goals.
• Assist program participants with personal care and hygiene as needed (toileting, transfers, dressing, grooming).
• Provide light to medium maintenance tasks (cleaning, laundry, cooking, shopping, grounds keeping) as assigned.
