Job summary

Helping Hand is seeking a dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our Day Program team in Hodgkins, IL. This on-site role supports individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities with daily living, community integration, recreation, and work skill-building.

The DSP will document progress, collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, and promote independence while modeling our values. Requires a high school diploma or GED; experience with IDD population is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience with intellectual and developmental disability population preferred.
• Ability to fulfill training requirements including crisis management and DSP training within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals in daily activities, personal care, and skill-building.
• Lead and implement engaging lessons and activities.
• Promote community involvement and independence.
• Document progress and communicate needs with the interdisciplinary team.
• Serve as a role model, mentor, and advocate for those you support.
