Job summary

WellLife Network is seeking a Direct Support Professional to provide hands-on care, encouragement, and advocacy for individuals with developmental disabilities in New York. You’ll assist with daily living, health management, and community engagement while collaborating with a supportive team.

Requirements include a High School diploma or equivalent; experience with adults with developmental or behavioral health disabilities is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalency required.
• Experience with adults with intellectual/developmental or other behavioral health disabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Personal Care & Daily Living Support: assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting; help with meals and housekeeping to create a safe home.
• Health & Wellness: administer medications as directed; support attendees at medical appointments and follow treatment plans.
• Mobility & Accessibility: assist with walking, transfers and mobility aids; ensure safe navigation of environments.
• Behavioral & Emotional Support: implement strategies to support behaviors respectfully; provide encouragement and reassurance.
• Community & Social Engagement: plan and participate in recreational, educational, and social activities; foster community involvement.
• Communication & Advocacy: assist with communication tools; advocate for needs, rights, and access to services.
• Collaboration & Documentation: coordinate with healthcare providers and document daily notes and reports in electronic systems.
