Hillcrest is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our Residential Team in Iowa City. This part-time, non-exempt role runs 1st shift (6:00am–2:00pm) with occasional weekends; base pay is $17.00–$19.00 per hour plus shift differentials of $2.00–$3.00 per hour.

Responsibilities include assisting clients with ADLs, monitoring health, coordinating with healthcare providers, and maintaining accurate EHR records.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required.
• Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting individuals to achieve independence.
• Ability to stay calm and patient in stressful situations.

Responsabilités

• Provide individualized support to individuals with mental health challenges in group homes or residential facilities.
• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) including cooking, cleaning, showering, and money management.
• Monitor health and report changes to supervisors or healthcare providers.
• Assist with medical appointments and transportation as needed.
• Document daily activities and progress in the client’s EHR.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and families.
• De-escalate challenging behaviors and ensure safety for clients and staff.
• Support community integration and participation in social activities.
• Follow and update care plans as required.
