Job summary

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) at Skill Creations, Inc. provides one-to-one or group care in clients' homes or community settings, supporting individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities, traumatic brain injury and related needs.

This role emphasizes personal care, behavioral support and daily living skills under individualized plans. Starting pay ranges from $16.00 to $20.00 per hour, with higher rates for certain services.

Qualifications

• CPR/First Aid certification and Behavior Management training are required.
• Basic computer skills are needed for e-mail, electronic training modules and recording data.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform physical tasks as part of duties.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one or group care in the client’s home or community setting.
• Assist with personal care, behavioral support, and daily living skills.
• Support medication administration and job coaching as needed.
• Deliver educational opportunities in communication and recreation/leisure.
• Follow individualized plans of care and document progress.
