Job summary

Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota is seeking a Direct Support Professional - Lead Float to help individuals develop independence and pursue lifelong goals. You will advocate for clients in medical care and community activities, assist with daily living, and support them in achieving outcomes with dignity and respect.

You may drive as part of duties and participate in events, including potential overnight trips; documentation and trainings are required for the role.

Qualifications

• Experience working with vulnerable populations.
• Experience and/or training with individuals with disabilities preferred.
• Medication administration training may be required after hire.
• First Aid training required; CPR may be required after hire.
• Driver's license and clean MVR driving record required.
• Ability to read, write, and use a computer.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to individuals to develop independence and achieve personal outcomes.
• Advocate for individuals in medical care and the community.
• Assist with meal preparation, personal hygiene, and daily living tasks.
• Assist with medication administration and basic housekeeping (cleaning, laundry).
• Participate in events and activities, including driving and overnight trips when needed.
• Complete documentation, attend trainings and meetings, and perform other duties.
